I love it when op shop wishes come true, sadly they usually take a few weeks around here!

Guess what I'm going to try and make.

JaM

Well for a while now I have been collecting, sorting and patting my buttons, I know what I want to make from them but actually getting around to doing this is another matter.
I have a market to attend in a weeks time and as yet I really having nothing to put on my table.

Pop over to Jody's and see if there is procrastination or work.

JaM - A is for Announcements, Adventures And A giveAway

Joining in very late with Jodie meme.

This has been a week of internet connection woes, apparently bigger "towers" needed to be installed which affected everyone even if you weren't with that company!

Anyway back to JaM,  my announcement and adventure;
I'm off to the the Kooky Kidz Market in April, should be fun, now I just need to get busy and make some goodies.

Home Again

It's been a busy couple of weeks.
Sue and I spent a wonderful week together at the Field Days with all her gorgeous handcrafted treasure, we caught up with old friends and made some new ones.

Then mum and I popped over to Melbourne for the National Sports Aerobics and managed to see the Tutankhamun exhibition which was amazing.

In between there was a bit of wandering and shopping.

We saw "Love never Dies" absolutely fabulous.

and had lots of coffee breaks!
The South Australian girls came home with medals of every colour.

Now I just need to catch up on some sleep!

Happy/Sad

I have just read where "Meet me at Mikes" in Melbourne is closing.
Sad that I wont get to visit again, I was there 12 months ago with my besties.
I'm happy that they will get their weekends together as a family and they will get to spend more time doing what they really want to do.

Pink Baby

A group of us from work have been invited to a baby shower.
As the couple already know they are having a girl I have made us "baby pink headbands" to wear.

Saturday

The Semaphore Market was lovely, I chatted with lots of people and had fun.

This was only their second market and it has a lovely vibe the hall was filled with loads of handmades.
I look forward to the next one.

Sorry about the photos, I have no idea why they haven't shown up on this post.

After the Party

"And I ache in the places that I used to play!"
Leonard Cohen

Well I'm not sure how many clothes lines look like this today but I had to wash everything from yesterday, eeing so wet and today so hot if I left them I'm sure there would be some weird chemistry experiment going on in the plastic tubs!

Our invite to Art @ The Hart arrived the day before we flew to Melbourne so there wasn't much time to prepare.
I had hoped to decontruct some clothes but with the limited time frame I only really managed to embellish some cardies. I was really pleased with the finished result and more important it was great fun to do.

With our continued theme of recycling, we covered our own coat hangers and made magazine paper bags.
I think a nap may be in order now!

The Weekend

I've had a busy couple of weeks and the time has just flown by.

I have just returned from Art at The Hart a fabulous artists market held down at Port Adelaide.
Sue and I shared a space, you can't get much better than spending a weekend with your bestie.
The lovely Christina dropped by with yummy treats.

Over the 2 days a local artist tried to complete this hugh canvas but Saturday was so hot the paint was drying too quickly and today it rained!
Thanks to everyone who dropped in to say Hello and to the organisers of a wonderful festival.

Friends

I've just returned from a few days away in Melbourne with my besties.
It's wonderful city to explore with like minded pals.

We shopped, I think it may take the credit card a while to recover.

We walked and talked and ate and drank.

We visited several markets and craft shops, it certainly was a feast for the senses.
Thanks for a fabulous weekend.

sshh ..

All this hot weather has made me very grumpy and unmotivated.
My besties and I decided that we wouldn't do Christmas presents at Christmas ~ ok I decided this cos I wasn't organised! ~ we would do presents in the new year.
Well at this rate it's going to be presents at Easter ~ which can't be far away as the hot cross buns are already in the shops.
We always try to give at least one hand crafted gift, hence the secret, sshh..

Semaphore Street Party

I am off to spend Sunday at the Semaphore Street Party with my delightful young friend again. Semaphore Road will be closed to all traffic on Sunday with a Christmas market, bands and performers.
Not only have I been busy making goodies for the market, I have also made the packaging.
Pretty pages from magazines have been stitched together and I've added a ribbon handle.
If you are in the area come along and say Hello and do a spot of Christmas shopping.
"In this age of mass production there is nothing like giving a gift that has handmade warmth and individuality".

Thank you to everyone who entered my give away.
The winner is Kath.
