Long Lunch

Today I had lunch with my besties at The Tea Pot Inn in Mintaro.

The Clare Valley is beautiful this time of year.

This rather large cat joined us for lunch, demanded a tummy rub, then bought us a small gift but refused to pose for the camera.

After lunch a stroll around the historic town.

The old windmill and the rain water tanks.

A turn around the antique shop and then desert.

Can't wait for the next long lunch.

Let them Eat Cake

Yesterday we celebrated a dear friends 80th birthday.

The cupie doll is from 1956 and her skirt is covered with marshmellows.

We could call her a Dolly Varden, my mum used to make Dolly Varden cakes for me when I was little, yes I know "well loved".

Naturally I have no nice fabric, I am off to the shops tomorrow.

I see can endless possibilities with this outfit, the perfect all season top and dress, and besides who can resist cake.

Afternoon Tea

Yesterday afternoon was so lovely we took ourselves out to afternoon tea.

The apple cake was delicious. 

All the more special with a real teapot and tea cups.

I "helped" make this cake, mmmm prehaps "helped" isn't the right word, I managed to burn the chocolate and eat far too much!
