We have been adopted

We have been feeding this little girl for about 12 months,  since her dear old owner went into a nursing home.
She has been very shy around us until a couple of weeks ago. we are now allowed small pats especially when holding the biscuit box.
We have no idea how old she is and think her name was Blackie. I have named her Miss Gladdie after her owner, she doesn't seem to mind, perhaps that's because I have thumbs.

Playing

Well it's been a while since I popped in here, time is just flying by.

Last weekend I spent with my besties in the beautiful Clare Valley. Kath doesn't own any cows but we woke up Sunday morning to discover 8 cows circling the house.
Apparently they liked the look of the property so pushed their way through the fence and came to say Hello!

We did manage a little sewing in between laughing, eating and drinking.
Sue drafted this pattern for me and told me to add 5 mm to each pattern piece, there were supposed to be 7 pieces to this vest but unfortunately I have a slight problem of some sort, measuring maybe, and ended up with the vest being way to big and had to remove two panels completely!

I cut the vest from a boiled wool jacket and finished the neck edge with a felted jumper band.
Sue made a little felted broach to cover my bad stitching and finish the vest off.

The studio cat did his best to help out!
I had a great weekend, Thank you.

Long Lunch

Today I had lunch with my besties at The Tea Pot Inn in Mintaro.
The Clare Valley is beautiful this time of year.
This rather large cat joined us for lunch, demanded a tummy rub, then bought us a small gift but refused to pose for the camera.

After lunch a stroll around the historic town.

The old windmill and the rain water tanks.

A turn around the antique shop and then desert.
Can't wait for the next long lunch.

Cats

These 2 cavorting cats don't belong to us, they are a bit like the peacocks and roam the neighbour hood together.
Of course I know no one ever actually "owns" a cat, I am sure the only reason they stay with us is because we have "thumbs" and can be rather useful at times.

Our Synchronised Travel Journeys

I'm joining the journey with Vic and taking you on a little tour.
Yes a walking tour, running in the end because of the rain.
1. First stage is your starting point;
Down the drive way

2.Walk in any direction for 50 or 100 paces, then turn 180 degrees;

3. Continue walking in that direction until you see something blue;

4. Make a left turn & walk 50 to 70 paces;

5. Walk in any direction until you see something that either is or looks like the number 7 or 11;
Back to back 7's

6. Take the first left & continue walking until you find somewhere to sit;
I missed this picture because it started to rain.

7. Choose any direction & walk for 25 or 50 paces;

9. Keep walking in any direction until you see an archway or an unusual architectural feature;

8. Continue walking until you see an unusual colour, shape or texture. Turn 180 degrees;

10. Head for home but continue looking for something that catches your eye.
These 2 caught my eye when I reached home, sitting together on our fence, I mean their fence!

Several elderly people asked me what I was doing as I was taking photos so I explained it was for a science project, I am sure they wouldn't have understood blogging.

It's a great way to see where you live as all too often we rush by in the car.

Moments

The balancing act is proving to be a tad difficult and in my next life I think I would like to be Miss Lilly.
Prehaps taking up rowing 3 mornings a week, yes early mornings and it's not exersise although it does require an expansion of engery. I have an alergy to exersise, but gliding across the water in the early dawn is fabulous and all you can think about is exactly what you are doing at that moment. I sometimes forget to live in the moment, I'm too far back or I'm too far forward.
I know many of you are still in disbelief and falling off your chairs with laughter. The cheer squad grows daily with crys of "I have to see this"!  Maybe it's age, try before I die.
Hope everyone is enjoying a "moment".

Summer Days

Summer days can be lovely lazy days.
What a treat, spending the day reading and

dreaming.

Noise!

Meet Percy the Peacock he lives in our street and several dear old ladies feed him. His beautiful tail feathers have now returned and he's calling for a girl friend day and night.
Apparently he lost his girl to a fox several years ago.
Miss Lilly is completely deaf and screams like a banshee, unfortunately for Percy he seems to mistake her caterwauling for an off key pea hen!
As yet they haven't met face to beak!

On Moonlight Bay

Saturday night was a full moon, we rugged up and went for a walk. Half way along the jetty we looked back and saw the beautiful moonlight and twinkling lights shining on the water.

Saturday night also saw Miss Lilly "baying" at the moon like a junk yard dog! She has always acted a bit odd with full moons and mice.

She was a rescue cat at age 5 and set in her ways, her demands were short; I don't eat cat food, I don't live outside and I will sleep on your favourite things!

Miss Lilly arrived with us when we were living in Clare (good wine) and when the odd mouse entered her house she would sit on the table until it was removed. Perhaps she is Aunt Mabel reincarnated, she was always a bit odd!

Miss Lilly is now "sweet 16", completely deaf, toothless, a bit dotty and living her twilight years in complete cat luxury. She has moved 3 times with us and has never looked to leave , we must be doing something right!

"Dogs have masters, Cats have slaves!"

Have a great day, Miss Lilly is!
