Happy Friday

Catching up with besties tomorrow, I'm sure there will be tea drinking and laughter.

Holidays

The break between Christmas and New Year is always an odd time, public holidays, everything seems to slow down and in some places almost grind to a halt.

We took a break in the city for a couple of days, saw this exhibition , at the Urban Cow and drank tea here, too early for gin.

Managed to see the latest James Bond film before it disappeared.
I loved Skyfall but I am a Bond fan and I'm happy to leave my brain at the door.

JaM

Where do you drink your tea is this week's jam

I love to sit outside and watch the world go by under the frangipani tree.

This is my favourite mug at the moment filled with French Earl Grey.

This is my other spot outside depends on the weather.

Pop over to Jody's and see where others drink their tea.

Tea

Well finally I can sit and enjoy a cup of tea, or maybe something stronger!
Blogger and I haven't been playing very nicely with bits of my blog missing and then reappearing only to have something else disappear!
Sigh of relief.. ... all seems well again.

Flea Market Finds

There wasn't really anything on my list this week but I can never walk past an oppie just in case.
These pretty glasses caught my eye and hopefully they will encourage me to drink more, dare I say it, water.
I am a coffee and tea drinker and I'm sure there are days when I don't even have a mouth full of water.
Pop over to Sophie's for more finds of the week and happy hunting for the coming week.

Afternoon Tea

Yesterday afternoon was so lovely we took ourselves out to afternoon tea.
The apple cake was delicious.

All the more special with a real teapot and tea cups.

Tea for Three

Had a lovely day yesterday with my two besties.
It was lovely to enjoy wonderful company in the sun shine.

Party Time

We have just returned from a weekend away celebrating Sue's daughters 21st Birthday.
The party theme was Vintage High Tea, Alice in Wonderland.
All manner of drinks were taken from the tea cups.

There was a lovely afternoon tea spread.

Party games were played and enjoyed by all and everyone dressed up.
Without a doubt it was the best 21st party I have attended,
Thank you.

Bunting

I've been busy making "party bunting" in "high tea" colours with snipets of lace and doilies, and just for Kath there is a little bit of sparkle too.

Party

How exciting a 21st Birthday Party, themed with a vintage high tea combined with Alice!
Sue and her daughters made these fabulous invites.
I have trawled the oppies in search of an outfit and with a bit of stitching I will have a vintage look frock.

A crocheted flower garland for the high tea party.
There has to be decorations and we have also been collecting "tea" themed treasure.
Apparently there will be games and prizes.

I thought I would leave you with this flower as this post seems to be "pink themed".

Pink Treasure

I've joined Sophie's meme for the weekly flea market finds.
My treasures this week all seem to be pink.

A beautiful pink linen tea towel. It's never dryed a tea cup little alone seen a washing machine.
I wonder did it sit in someones glory box or hope chest, then maybe shoved to the back of the linen cupboard, did it get forgotten or was it too pretty to use.

The pink bowl is a piece of Grindley, "Peach Petal" and at only $1 how could I resist!
The lace, ribbon and table runner were just pretty.

I remember churches using these sort of vases only much larger.

Sue mentioned that the oppies are getting expensive and I agree with her, but nothing is more annoying than hearing the people who work there complaining that they have "so much stuff" they can't display it or can't seem to turn over their stock. I know their over heads are expensive and they are given junk they have to pay to dispose of BUT everything is donanted, most of the staff are voluntary AND who is going to pay $5 for a t-shirt that would go in the home rag bag!
Climbing off my soap box now.

Spring

Afternoon tea in the sunshine.

I'm hopeful spring isn't far away, the almond trees are full of blossoms.
Jonquils are bobbing up and the violets are just so pretty.

Roll on summer, Roll on......
