Christmas Baking
I'm attempting to bake sweets for the Christmas Day gathering and decided to on several slices among other yummies.
While shopping I needed 125gm but the packaging is now 100 or 200gms, I found everything I needed I had to buy extra and in some cases I will will have excess.
I'm sure all these companies must have changed their packaging over the years and it's most annoying.
These are older recipes and I'm sure that it would have been a packet of this and a packet of that but not anymore.

Party Dress
I finally finished the dress from several weeks ago.
I had actually measured, some what rare for me, and thought I had chosen the correct size, but alas it was too big and I had to try and resize it. The waist is still a bit low but the top fits better.

Saturday Sewing
I found this little black dress in the oppie the other day, never been worn and made from a nice stretchy fabric.
When I tried it on the neck line was too low perhaps that's why no one had worn it.
First thing to go was the bow on the tummy!
I rummaged around in my cupboard and found some black and white spotty cotton fabric and added a frill across the neck and then added a pocket in the same fabric.
I finished the neck line with 3 buttons and 1 button on the pocket

Sunday
Making Christmas bunting and attempting find some Christmas Spirit.
Suddenly everyone wants to catch up before December 25th as though the world will end on this day, the middle part of the year passes quietly along but when November hits we seem to become very popular.
Does this happen to anyone else or am I just being a "grinch"!

These arrived in the post today, lovely Australian tea towels.
There is a shortage of these in the oppies over here and I want them for a special project.
Thanks Sue

Antiques & Oppies
Our local community held it's annual Antique Fair on the weekend, dealers come from across the state to participate.
There was loads of pretty china and glass as well as few vintage and retro pieces.
My find of the day came from the oppie that cleverly opened on the weekend,
$2 for the tablecloth and a delightful chat with the ladies.

My Place & Yours
This week over at My Place & Yours it's all about the frock.
I have lots of favourite dresses some are vintage and some recently purchased but this is my favourite at the moment.
I bought the screen printed fabric last week and made it from Jody's pattern "A piece of Cake".
I love this pattern it's sew easy to make and wear.

Friends & Fabric
I had a lovely day out with Sue on Saturday we ventured off to the Bowerbird Bazaar with hundreds of other people. You could hardly move inside and we did a lot of sideways shuffling along the isles and waiting patiently to peer at the stall holders delights.
I purchased the screen printed fabric on the right and knew I didn't have enough fabric to make another frock but a quick trip to spotlight and I'm all sorted.
Just need a couple of spare hours now.
While at spotlight I couldn't resist some of this fabric either, not sure what it will become yet.

My Place and Yours
This weeks meme at My Place and Yours is "Where I sleep", our bedroom always looks like a bomb has hit it and I admit it's all my fault, so this is the pile of books waiting to be read next to my side of the bed.

Home Again
It's been a busy couple of weeks.
Sue and I spent a wonderful week together at the Field Days with all her gorgeous handcrafted treasure, we caught up with old friends and made some new ones.
Then mum and I popped over to Melbourne for the National Sports Aerobics and managed to see the Tutankhamun exhibition which was amazing.
In between there was a bit of wandering and shopping.
We saw "Love never Dies" absolutely fabulous.
and had lots of coffee breaks!
The South Australian girls came home with medals of every colour.
Now I just need to catch up on some sleep!
