Thrift-a-Long

After doing the rounds of the opshops this week and being disappointed I was finally rewarded on Friday with some pretty china.

She has already lost a hand so I'm sure it wont hurt much when she loses her head.

This dear little boy looks very tired after all the peddling he has done.
Hope everyone else found treasure this week.
Pop over to Sue's for more thrifting.

Thrift-a-Long

This rather large coffee pot has made it into my collection this week.
I'm sure once it was full it would take 2 of you to pour it as it's heavy even when it's empty.

Joining Sue and Thrift-a-long, what treasure have you found this week?

JaM

Joining in this weeks JAM, whatcha got.
Adding to collections, I collect lots of things and probably too much but I love Johnson Bros Dream Town.
I only have 3 plates of various sizes so far you don't see it very often.
I was delighted to find this plate in the oppie the other day for $2.

Loving the wired bird cages, I can see yet another obsession, oh I mean collection starting.

The Task

I've spent the last 3 days sorting through the shed, some of these things have been boxed up for 5 years.
I had planned to sort all this out when we moved here nearly 3 years ago.

The op shop ladies are now diving under the counter as they see me approach!

As each box revealed it's hidden treasure and memories, laughter and tears flowed, yes I'm a big sook!
I made this quilt in a caravan trip up the east coast back in the 90's.

I just keep thinking how can one person possibly have so much stuff and how did I manage to collect it all?
The end is in sight, I can see the back of the shed!

Gifts

From nature, beautiful lemons.

From my mum, 2 gorgeous red ceramic birds.
Stamped on their bottom is West Germany and the antique shop owner said they were part of a collection he got at sale.
Anyone know anything about West German ceramics?

Stay tuned I'll have a "gift away" soon.

Red

A red collection to brighten a grey day.

Winter and wool, the stack of squares have been joined together to create a bright snuggle rug.
Hope you are all staying warm this weekend.

Australia

I have a friend who collects Australian Tea Towels.
I found this one in my op shop travels "Greetings from Port Wakefield" South Australia ~ Made in Romania!

This weeks mission should I choose to accept it ~ the art department has issued the challenge to find tins depicting gum leaves and gum trees.
